Studio Equipment Pilates (3 people per class)
We use specialised equipment (Reformer, Trapeze Table, Combo Chair, Free Form Disc, Ladder Barrel and Springboard) where we can adjust the settings and tension on the equipment to change the intensity of your session. We target specific areas of your body to aid in your injury rehabilitation or improve your fitness and core strength, based on the information we gather in your initial consultation.
Our focus within our studio class is to provide specific and individualised exercises that will target your individual goals; whether it is for fitness and toning, to rehabilitate from an injury, reduce pain or to improve your function. The exercises that you do in each session will be varied and progress in challenge as you improve.
These classes do require an Initial Assessment with one of our physiotherapists prior to commencing.
Mums & Bubs Class (4 people per class)
Our Mums & Bubs classes provide an opportunity for you to exercise with your baby nearby! This fun class focuses on re-training your abdominal, core and pelvic floor strength; while increasing your thoracic mobility, posture, upper body strength and lower body strength.
You are welcome to bring your pram, sling, play mat etc along to class to ensure bub is happy doing Pilates too! Rest assured our instructor will also be able to help with your bub, to maximise the time you can exercise.
A medical clearance from your obstetrician or doctor stating that you are safe to exercise is required prior to commencing classes. This class is suitable for new mums and babies up to the age of 12 months. It is recommended to have an Initial Assessment with one of our physiotherapists prior to commencing. This class is health fund claimable.
Pregnancy Pilates (3 people per class)
Our pregnancy class is individualised as we believe every woman experiences pregnancy differently and so to does their body. The class is kept to a maximum of 3 people so specific attention can be focused on optimal posture, correct core activation and safe exercise execution – as we strongly believe the benefit from doing an exercise comes only when it is done accurately.
The pregnancy class works on the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles. We also focus on strengthening and stretching specific muscle groups which are weakened and tight from the postural changes and stresses that occur during pregnancy. Our pregnancy classes address each trimester differently, are designed by Physiotherapists and endorsed by Obstetricians, with you and your baby in mind.
